14.11.2012, Karlsruhe, Paderborn. The open source project Palladio has releases the latest version of its software architecture simulator "Palladio-Bench". The community had prepared the release during their so-called "Palladio Days" user and developer meeting in Paderborn, Germany.
The last developer meeting was used for preparation of the release candidate and last tests before release. The core of the free modelling and software architecture analysis tool "Palladio-Bench" contains more than 90 Plugins in the lastest release. It uses Eclipse 4.2 (Juno). More than 50 extensions and corrections of more than 40 developers have made it into the latest release. More than 100 further plugins allow extensions of "Palladio-Bench", e.g. automated design space exploration (PerOpteryx), network simulation using OMNeT++ (OMPCM), or dimensioning of cloud infrastructure (SimuLyzar).
The core innovations of version 3.4 are improved usability like a new Eclipse perspecte for Palladio modelling, wizards to speed up projects start, and extensions of the simulation capabilties of event-based communication including filtering event-channels which now can be graphically edited. Version 3.4 is based on Eclipse 4.2 (Juno). Various stability improvements and a slim-lined architecture core ease the extension of Palladio due to less dependencies.
The new release is available for download at the website.
